Here the focus was on International Events: how mega-events like the FIFA World Cup and Summer/Winter Olympic Games and the European/UK City of Culture can and does impact a city, legacy building and leveraging tactics, the bidding process of cities looking to host and the impact it has on wider the society, economy and culture.

Semester 2 - Berlin, Germany
Here the focus shifted to cultural diplomacy: what it is, how it is used, how it can be applied on a grassroots level and at a government level, to address and overcome economic, religious, cultural, societal and ethnic barriers, to build nations and identities.
